Please Change Incoming and Outgoing Mail Servers
Submitted by mark on Fri, 04/20/2007 - 10:15Customers using Orbis Lumen mail servers for their incoming and outgoing mail are asked to change the name of their incoming and outgoing mail servers in their mail programs as part of our ongoing upgrade process. All other settings can be left the same.
Incoming (IMAP) imap.orbislumen.net Outgoing (SMTP) mx3.orbislumen.net
The old settings will remain working until midnight 25 April 2007, after which they will become invalid. These new settings must be used.
Our apologies for any inconvenience. This change will allow us to perform a low-level upgrade to the server currently servicing your email requests.
Please contact us if you have any questions or need assistance.

MX Mail Routing Records Changed
Submitted by mark on Thu, 04/19/2007 - 02:57Customers whose domains are hosted by Orbis Lumen have been changed to reflect new mail routing priorities as part of our upgrade process. If we host your domain, there is nothing you need to do.
Customers who use Orbis Lumen as backup MX for their own domains they host themselves need to update their DNS zones by adding the following MX record:
MX (priority) mx3.orbislumen.net.
(priority) is whatever you need it to be, but it should be a lower number than mx2.orbislumen.net and mx3.orbislumen.net .
If Orbis Lumen provides administration services on you servers, these changes have already been made for you, and you need to do nothing.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.

Please Update Your Domain Registration Information
Submitted by mark on Wed, 04/18/2007 - 19:00With the recent release of Debian 4.0, core servers are being updated.
Customers who have email or domain services provided by Orbis Lumen are asked to update their domain registration information, adding the following name server:
ns3.orbislumen.net - 71.216.2.91
Adding this server to your domain registration will help make the server transitions as transparent to you as possible.
As always, please contact us if you have any questions.

Mail logins now require SSL
Submitted by admin on Fri, 03/23/2007 - 18:35If you try checking your email and receive an error message, please check to make certain you have enabled a "secure connection" in your mail program when checking your email.
Although this may cause some hassle for some people, the end result is well worth the momentary pain.
Please let us know if you need any help, or phone 206-774-6759.
